Sept 28th

Bella’s eye looks good, but she does need Rx to help tear production

The photo comp for St Chad’s was judged by Derrick and Dorothy, as Sheena not able to make possible dates, so we got the exhibition of winners to St Chad’s in good time on Oct 1st. --- also an example of the calendar (Staples equipment broke down so none to pit out) and Kath had got the Christmass cards with Hetty at the crib done beforehand

Walsingham

Took the chance to go to the crematorium on Sept 5th and leave a plant for the gardeners to place as they do the next day in the January garden in memory of my parents as it would have been their 70th wedding anniversary --- also had the time to have a quiet walk and thinking time

Have heard good news of Butes and Asti

Both have settled well and sound to be having a perfect time.

Asti is on holiday, as is the kitten Gaudi who Pat bought from me in January, in Wales

Butes too will be off on holiday and I think he’ll be enjoying camping

Seffy wonders if she is to get a holiday???

July 22nd.

I went to school for the year 6 leavers assembly which was excellent and I also presented my silver awards and the 2 prizes already mentioned.

When I got home around 11.15 Gabby took her Frusemide (I had not given it earlier as was not here for her to get in and out)

Gabby went upstairs and looked down at me ---- after a little while she came down and seemed unhappy --- soon after 1.30pm we realised she was far from well and so settled together on the settee, where, cradled in my arms, she died soon after 2pm --- it was heart-breaking to watch those last few minutes and know all I could do was comfort her.

Bella and Seffy so wanted to wash her better --- poor little Hetty was distressed but did finally come close to say good-bye

Kath came along to be with us and drove Gabby and me down to SVCC when it was all over. Thank you so much Kath, we really needed you

Thanks too to Lucy and Dianne at SVCC and especially to Kevan (Gabby’s beloved Vet) who took time away from visitors to talk over what had happened and for being so supportive and comforting

Gabby did sleep with me for the last week and I hope she had all the TLC she so very much deserved.

We all miss her so much --- sleep well my beautiful black and tan lady and like those, especially your pals Persee and Maddy, who have gone before enjoy that precious land where all is well and you can play without any distress. God bless you, my pretty little one.

The last photo of dear little Gabby

Hetty watches all

July 18th

Nicola, her husband and the 2 children came this afternoon and it seemed Butes and they were meant for each other --- he went off happily with the usual goodies and toys; Seffy watched him go and the house seemed quiet. (The children had only been told about Butes while they were coming to see him and their behaviour with all the animals is exemplary --- I wonder what Butes will think of the rabbit in Harrogate)

Many thanks to Chris G at St Chad’s who advertised on her work site for me and where Nicola read about Butes.

Butes having a cuddle the day before his new family arrived

Today is Gabby’s 11th birthday and she does seem a little brighter and used to the Frusemide regimen.

We had a really good birthday tea with most of the animals around

July 16th

We saw Larissa, as Kevan away, and Gabby was very good having blood teats taken. We have a new prescription of frusemide 20mn bd.

This evening Gabby seemed very unwell, but after a long chat with Pat on the phone, she rallied after her second dose of Frusemide

I took lots of photos this evening once Gabby was brighter

All is now arranged for Nicola of Harrogate and her husband to come to see Butes --- let’s hope they all like each other as it sounds a great home for him.

July 13th

Seffy has her 4th birthday celebrations before I went off for + David’s farewell service at the cathedral

Gabby does not seem so well and I am sure I can feel increased cardiac and possibly respiratory symptoms

July 11th

We took a photo of Butes with his prize rosette and card as there is an enquiry about him via the internet

July 6th

Bella is 4 today and we managed her celebration between school and Bingley meetings

July 3rd

The dog show and the photo shows the girls and Butes with their winnings

Asterios also won a prize before he left for his new home with Pat in Hebden Bridge

July 2nd evening

--- Asterios gives a cheeky look at all the paraphernalia for the dog show

Week ending July 3rd

Hetty and I were off collecting dog show prizes from Darvill’s and Cobbydog and a few people who gave anonymously --- I love this photo of Hetty when we got back and she and Seamus could almost be discussing the day!!!!

Much of June – late July the cavaliers have enjoyed weekday daily lunchtime visits and walks from David of Scooby’s while I’ve been on school appeal panels at City Hall. Had never realised how tired I would feel after days at City Hall and did near the need chair 3 days which means one had to 110% alert to changes, etc.

June 19th

Couple were to come and see the puppies --- the frustrations of breeding. Spent quite a bit of the morning cleaning the house and grooming all dogs so they looked really good --- only to have a ‘phone call less than an hour before the couple were due to arrive saying they have decided to get a younger puppy.

June 17th

Took car for service and MOT and expected it to be plain sailing after work on her recently. Went to Derrick and Dorothy’s and was surprised to get a call that work needed on car, and part ordered but may not be there until Monday. Dorothy brought me home and at least she had a chance to see the 2 boys

June 15th and after – all the animals appear to miss Wee Georgie.

June 14th nibbles and cake for Readers’ Board rounded off the day

Back to Appeals

June 12th was a good Reader day, but very few came, even though we had 10 signed up.

June 4th

Derrick, Dorothy and I went to Goole for Jean Grant’s funeral. What a good number there for her.

June 2nd

Eve of Corpus Christi service and Benediction. Hetty came to the service and refreshments after in the church hall. People were so impressed at her good behaviour she became quite the little star and is now on quite a few people’s cameras.

May 25th

Met Margaret Heath at Bolton Abbey to plan site use for Reader Day on June 12th. It was good to have coffee with Father George. Bella ran off around the church, but came back of her own accord. What a beautiful place. Hetty and Bella enjoyed the grassland after Margaret and I had lunched

Then it was back to Lilycroft for year 2’s ‘ugly bug ball’ to celebrate the end of their SATs. The costumes were great --- and the photo is of the winners among the children. Great to see the teachers, including HT, Deputy and KS1 Assistant head in their ‘bug’ costumes.

May 21st

Butes finds a new perch on the cat’s furniture while Asterios watches the cats playing with mouse toys!

May 15th

Went to a life-long Hindu friends marriage --- Hetty watched from the car!

May 10th

The marathon of School Appeals is underway --- quite a few days (weeks) full now and from mid-June

May 7th

Bella had the planned scan, and the result was as I had anticipated – no puppies at 8 weeks although we had seen at least one at 4 weeks. But she is fit and well and that is the most important thing.

May 6th

Hetty came to guard the polling station for my two sessions of telling and then evening at the Clayton Cons club --- now we await the results.

While Hetty slept I got a fun photo of the other Cavaliers

Hetty home with her election information!

May 1st 2010

After a busy week sorting the car and various meetings, interviews, at school, Pattie having x-rays and investigations on Wednesday, and including an excellent Reader CMER evening with Fr Benedict’s talk about the Egyptian Coptic Church; Today was another London trip for the ‘Reader’ magazine editorial group. My first meeting.

April 25th

Hetty was glad to be back at Church for the APCM and to get fussed by all her friends

April 25th

I had the day in London with Chris and Despina for the CRC AGM, etc. Shall be back to London next Saturday as well, as am now in the Editorial Committee for the Reader magazine.

We were at St Peter’s Eaton Square --- the first time I’ve been since their horrific fire in the 1980s --- it is truly glorious and recommend anyone going to London with free time to visit the church, (like the idea of the Vicar being housed on the roof!!!)

We found a truly irresistible Italian coffee and ice cream café --- just look at the design on the top of my Cappuccino

BATH-TIME

Asterios and Butes meet the bath for their first shower

EASTER Monday

Hetty and Seffy were off to Keighley Show

New layout meant Mum could not take fabric cage in for both as it have meant staying by same and not being able to watch any judging all day as we all know how good Hetty is at opening the zip!!!

And, of course, Mum can’t do the steps to use the stage grooming area in main hall.

Still we had a good day and met up with many friends

Seffy showed well, even though her coat had shed at the pre-show bath, and she took the VHC in CKCS Post Grad. & the VHC in AV open TOY --- and just so you know, there were dogs unplaced in the classes.

Hetty, too showed well and gained the VHC placing in AV Veteran and got her first Keighley veteran rosette. (Sadly, our Sheltie pal, Toddy, was unplaced in the class)

As you can see Seffy decided to sleep on her cards, while Hetty posed and Asterios was very curious!

April 2010

Easter – and Gabby guards the special canine egg!

March 9th

Dee and her husband came along to see Phanos and he went off happily to his new home with them and the children. There is another B/T waiting for him at his new home.

March 7th

Finally got pups on a web site for sale late today

Feb 21st

Feb. 18th

Clayton Cons AGM this evening --- managed to get there and back in driving snow!

Feb 15th --- PUPPY NAME CHANGE

Please note I have had a telephone call from the Kennel Club and as a result one of the puppies has had to have a change of pedigree name.

So Mopsos is now TRUFEE BUTES --- at least he is still an Argonaut!

Butes is already learning his new name and major reaction was a busy playtime, followed by a big snooze as you can see: ---

Feb 13th

to Church Coffee morning, seems odd with no Cavalier beside me, but as still in the ‘Golf’

BUT little Alfie was there and behaving so well --- then slept soundly on his Dad’s knee: ----

Feb 11th and at Lilycroft for an outstanding Naat competition 2010

Ramah was the other judge so we had 3 religions judging the Muslim Naat competition which was truly excellent

For the first time we had joint winners --- and not only that but both were boys!!!!

Jan 17th

Preached at St Peter’s Allerton --- good to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones

Jan 16th

Decided to get out as snow melting and the idea was go to the bank and then the Church coffee morning --- turned into Crediton and car reversed into me from Crediton Court – and DROVE OFF --- as I got the number and bits of his car off the road, then spent some time at the Nelson Street police station! Mind you the officer was outstanding

Jan 15th

I have a last cuddle with Stafylos before his new owners arrive

A last photo of the sleepy played out little family before Stafylos leaves

The journey was an excellent experience

Jan 13th Puppies at 9 weeks

Phanos and Mopsos at play

Well we spent over a week housebound due to the snow and road being impassible

Tuesday 11th Jan

Took taxi 55 minutes to get me almost home from the clinic which is less than a mile away --- buses stopped using Bell Dean because of ice --- and then stopped altogether today, Jan 13th. Some young people walked into school and colleges for their examinations

Jan.5th

4 Cavalier ladies just looked
