CHRISTMASS DAY 2008

Let’s see what we’ve got for Christmass?

Okay we’ll pose very quickly --- then can we have a treat?

Nov 27th Hetty is 6 today

‘ready for bed after my birthday tea’

and NOBODY missed out!

Burnley & District Show --- November 15th 2008

Well all 4 were entered, but one way or another it was just Bella and Hetty for the show

Dorothy was busy any way, and other so-called helpers were unavailable or had simply forgotten.

Any way a very big thank you to excellent junior handler, Anne, who showed Bella so ably

(Ann normally shows her Great Danes)

Thanks too to our CKCS judge, ERNEST BULL (Ladash) who placed Bella 1st in CKCS Post Graduate

Then in the Open CKCS Bella took second place and Hetty 3rd.

Photo 02 taken on the actual very sunny day – 004 the ‘official’ picture!

After so long not being able to get to dog shows myself this was a lovely day!

Well done girls

‘The new kitten Seamus is taking over already!’

My meds have been altered and after 6 days dosage increased so here’s hoping for more physical activity soon

Also awaiting physio, etc.

Nov. 1st. 2008

Northern CKCS Open Show

Dorothy collected Bella, yesterday (Friday) and a very big thank you to Dorothy for bathing her and taking her to today’s show.

Bella gained 3rd in graduate bitch (and yes there were more than 4 in the class) and 4th in Sp. P/Grad Blen/Tri bitch which was a bigger class and she was the only Tri.

A good day, as Dorothy’s Rica won her small class and Bella’s dam was 2nd in open bitch

Thanks also to my younger neighbour who kindly chaperoned my 1st attempt at driving which was successful. Only went up to the local Allerton Road parade but all went well, although not easy to carry very much as yet.

We also got our South Ribble Pet Cat Club photo entries back: --- Photo of Hetty & Georgie got a 2nd.

Thanks to carol Walker for sending the 3 rosettes and prizes for us.

PLUS

Even more important are more thanks than I can ever say to Kath for all her care over the last 11 weeks ---

you’ve been really great, Kath & David’s door handle repair and look at other problems is also a greater help

Have a really good week away both of you!

Oct 2008

Hetty peeps out from the overgrowth of creeper around their settle by the back gate

Seffy & Hetty back in the warm

October 4th

A really cold wet and blustery day, but somehow Kath and I got 4 little ladies to the animal blessing --- Hetty was pleased to back with her church family and have a cuddle with Fr Benedict

They also attracted the T&A photographer, esp. Gabby who sat on an aisle seat taking it all in

Seffy was fascinated to find a pigeon in the row behind us, and Bella simply snuggled with her Auntie Kath!

A big thank you to Louiz our Portuguese Vet at SVCC for supporting the service --- happily no treatment was needed for anyone

Well done Mary for organising the afternoon

Hopefully we’ll get some of the T&A photos on site and acknowledged a.s.a.p.

October 3rd

Kath collected the photos and rosettes so Gavin can do a good display for people to see at tomorrow’s animal blessing service

I don’t seem able to get this left foot to work as yet!

All 4 Cavaliers re bathed and Wee Georgie topped and tailed for the event

October 1st

Nick came over and the photos are judged ready for Saturday at St Chad’s

Results will be posted on these sites after then

It was great to see Nick --- and thanks for the flowers.

To my other unexpected dog-collared visitor from the South thanks for the chocs --- dogs have been eyeing them ever since!

September 27th

The Diocesan Reader AGM in Settle was a long but good day and + George Dow very interesting for both conference and sermon

Thanks to Keith for getting me there and Jonathan for getting me home. Plus Linda Booth and team for the greet gluten free food

The election result --- well, yes one is now the Secretary to the Bradford Diocesan Readers’ Association (& so sec to the Readers’ Board) --- minutes drafted out and ready to spell check, etc., in the week.

So I have had the honour of ‘scarfing’ the three newly admitted Readers, as well as sitting between Bishop David and Fr Paul our Warden for the inspiring service.

4 newly licensed Readers for Bradford Diocese with Paul

September 25th

Well --- the pins are out and there’s a wee bit of one left in the bone where same broke --- faulty pin I guess

Mr Shanker’s team as great as ever. Glad Kath was there though!

September 20th

Well only a week to go for the next OPD and a really can’t thank people who have been around to help enough, especially Kathleen who is a tower of strength and Sue who has kept me going in more ways than just bandaging. Plus Pat & Marian and various others --- THANK YOU

The flowers from Val W are still looking good and the bouquet from Lilycroft School is truly superb

Sue got me to the Rcn meeting last week

Mary has allowed me to help advertise the animal blessing service for October

Valerie Binney got me to MASTS and took me out to luncheon --- a change of scenery and a treat

Hopefully I’ll be more mobile soon!

Oh yes, and I’ve done a bit of that famed dissertation --- but not as much as hoped!

September 7th.

Today was Humberside CKCS Open Show, and, as I was unable to go to the Erin cat show (not Zimmer trip!) the Cavaliers missed out their mini-break in Keighley, Dorothy picked Bella up last evening to stay the night and then off to the show

Bella arrived home full of life at tea-time toady --- her Graduate bitch class was the largest in the whole show and she was not placed this time, but she then went into the Tri-colour bitch post graduate class and as you can see has brought her rosette home

Dorothy’s Ricka came 3rd in Ruby bitch and then trotted in for the 1st in Limit bitch.

Thanks to Dorothy for showing Bella

Update on 02.09.2008

Spoke with our new HT at Lilycroft on the telephone and all sounds okay --- hope to get along + Zimmer next Tuesday as usual.

I am to remain NWB with the ‘Zippy Zimmer’ until next appointment on September 25th – then we’ll await next instructions

Perhaps this study really will get tidied properly among other things --- don’t hold me to that, it’s surprising what can crop up.

Sorry to miss the 2 cat shows and Nidderdale dogs --- hopefully Dorothy will still take Bella to Humberside on Sunday

To those who have helped and are continuing to do so a very great heartfelt THANK YOU

On the feast of the Epiphany, St Chad’s magi had gold, incense, myrrh and ‘A PRECIOUS RUBY’

Hetty was quite bemused by the singing around the crib!
