Monday Nov 27th Hetty’s 4th birthday

Keighley match classes and the annual party and presentations this evening

Hetty took a cake for the humans to share and favourite biscuits for all the dogs --- they went done very well.

We had a great night

Bella 1st Special Puppy

Hetty 2 x 1st in Non Sporting and Open Bitch

Persee 2 x 1st on Open Dog and Veteran

Gabby went in veteran, just so she was not left out, and although judge, Samantha only gently examined her, she came 2nd to Persee

It was fun having 2 rubies in the final line-up, and PERSEE claimed the crown once more!

Then came the moment --- Katie and Stefan’s young sheltie bred by Gladys and David, who was there,

won the overall winner on points for 2006 and took the Puppy cup as well.

Persee was the runner up and took the veteran cup

Wednesday Nov 22nd

Gabby is home. Very quiet and happy to snooze on my bed

Tues Nov 21st.

Neil (Vet) rang to let us know Gabby is safely through her operation and is now a neuter.

She is stopping in hospital another night and needing antibiotics and analgesia.

Monday: Nov 20th

Kevan (Vet) came for luncheon and attended to 6 kittens and quite a few booster vaccinations

He checked Gabby and felt there was a possible hydrometria and so took her with him back to

SVCC for hospital care.

In the afternoon, Vet Nurse Alex let us know that bloods teats were reasonable and the scan

showed a sizeable uterine loop. So later I called in to sign a consent form for surgery tomorrow.

November 19th

CRAVEN

An enjoyable limit show at Skipton town hall from 11am:

So Bella was able to come along and watch the others as number 46.

We were greeted by a super prize of an envelope with £20 for the most entries.

As you can see we did okay and the 2 Rubies claimed the little wine bottles.

Gabby seemed very quiet until in the late afternoon there was some clear mucous vaginal discharge

which came and went for the next few hours.

I kept Gabby with me all night and the discharge increased and she needed several washes

to keep her comfortable. Kevan coming in the morning, so hopefully he can advise her treatment.

Hetty and Gabby gained reserve place in CKCS Post Grad & Open respectively

and were ‘truly dog tired’ once home, as you can see.

Then she got to photograph us all for hours!

Persee and Bella were not forgotten

Sept 25th 2006 NIDDERDALE AGRICULTURAL SHOW

Today we met a husband and wife team of Californian judges: Hetty and Gabby showed in Cavalier,

but it was not a Trufee or whole-colour day.

Persee was in Veteran Dog class of 30 AV entries and although not placed he did get an envelope containing £5 for being the oldest dog.

Gabby’s first ever veteran class at just over 7yrs., was an entry of 37AV bitches ---- she enjoyed the class.

All the veterans got a bag of Cobbydog food and special golden rosette, as you can see on the photo.

June 2006

Father ready for the footie!

Gabby home from helping Mum open the summer fair --- all things great & small

May 6th 2006

Well we set off early, but Katie, the Shelties and we CKCSs reached the show just on time,

after being re-routed away from an accident out in mid-country towards Bacup.

The show team were excellent, and it was grand to have the disabled spaces reserved for those of us who

had sent photographs before hand --- what a sensible idea, and to be recommended for ANY event where possible.

Hetty was placed in reserve place in CKCS POST GRAD (Judge Mr N Savage)

Thank you to Lyn Crane for taking her back into OPEN,

even if she was unplaced it was excellent experience for her to have such an able handler.

We enjoyed the variety classes under Mr V Salt

Hetty gained 1st in Bred by exhibitor, and Persee and Hetty also won the brace class,

which was a lovely surprise and perfect end to the day.

Gabby found the show a bit tiring being the 1st for a long time and did limp a little ---

still we came home with a Reserve in NOT BRED BY EXHIBITOR

Toddy and the puppy also had a fairly good day, with Toddy winning the AV Open Dog at the end of the day.

April 28th

A red letter day, as we have received the letter from the Kennel Club permitting us to take Gabby back in the ring,

so she is looking forward to future shows.
